A week ago I showed up with my bag and carryon suitcase to my new apartment in Roermond. Empty apartment. Painfully empty. No bed, no fridge, no WIFI.

But I am absolutely enamored with this city, and eager to make a life for myself here, if I can. It’s a bit frustrating, because it’s so rich in history and has such a wealth of eye candy, and yet, tourism being all the rage, all the local info (in English, anyway) is focused on shopping. Yes, there is great shopping here, loads of it, but there is so much more. I am embarking on a mission to learn about it, and to share this gorgeous little city with anyone who will listen. Please join me.
(here’s a little bit of backstory, if you want it)
