If biking and boating aren’t enough to keep you healthy, Roermond still has you covered. There are a few yoga studios, a couple dance studios, and a 24 hour gym right at the train station.
I am really impressed by the Zwembad de Roerdomp
(although I haven’t been inside it yet). It’s a complex of different pools (indoor and outdoor), with waterslides, cafe and terraces, and even a sandy beach volleyball area. Apparently they offer swimming lessons, aquatic fitness classes, water sports… it seems like a really great facility, and looks immaculate from the outside.
Then there’s a sports complex, with a running track, football (soccer), tennis, basketball… the website says they even have judo?
Finally, there’s this sportclub/wellness center, which not only has a gym, pool, and fitness classes, but also seems to double as a day spa, with sauna, massage, facial, and even botox and microneedling treatments.
In short, there seems to be a rich variety of ways to stay fit and active and have fun here.
